We're looking for the quickest ST220 in the country, and need one to performance test (along with a bunch of other cars) at Bruntingthorpe, near Leicester later this month. It will be a week day, and it will take all day.
Sorry, but no standard or lightly modified ones will do. You'll be holding up the honor of the 220, so it needs to be a 'good un'!
If you know of anyone who may be suitable, let them know and either reply on here, or email me at dan.white@futurenet.co.uk

spectators allowed or is it against h&s?
my money would have to be on nettleship from pf as he's got 320 out of his, not too sure if someone from here will be able to top that

Sorry fella, no spectators! Wasn't there some contention over Matt's power figures?

bummer
i seem to recall a rolling road day a few years ago with some 220's making close to 300 brake just with chips and cams and stuff, could have been before your time though, look through some back issues or ask simon if he's local
unless it was the other school kids.....:}

What kind of performance testing are we talking about? Just straight line? Mine would be pretty standard for that, but track stuff I might stand half a chance, my ST220 has got coilovers, AP Racing brakes and a Quaife diff (along with the obligatory exhaust, induction and bluefin, which make naff all difference really)
I'll post up a news article on here and on www.STdriveRS.co.uk to generate some interest

It's straight just straight line stuff. The cost and (unfortunately) our H&S regulations makes proper track testing a nightmare. Track testing is also more about driver, than car ability, whereas acceleration tests are better for creating a more level playing field (ish!)

Top gear prove that wrong many times over, Remember the vectra vs mondeo & mazda test. The fastest car in a straight line (vectra) was the slowest when the stig did the test lap.
1s slower than the mondeo & 3 seconds slower than the mazda.

That requires the same person to drive all the cars, which isn't always possible as few people would let a pro driver thrash their car!
